When organising your pallets for delivery, there are common pallet delivery terms that could make the process more difficult if you donβt understand what they mean. Every industry has its own terminology, you do not need to be an expert, but knowing the common pallet delivery terms can help you avoid mistakes and difficulties during the process.
There are common pallet delivery terms that are used in the industry that are advised that you know of in order to help make dealing with pallets easier for you.
Palletised Goods
A pallet is a structure made from either wood or plastic, it is used to safely deliver your shipment. Goods transported on a pallet are required to be safely packed and secured to the pallet structure to provide a safe and smooth delivery process.
Certification of Origin
A certification of origin is a certificate that holds information about the origin of the items being transported.
Claim
Within this industry, a claim is a legal demand made by the transporter in order to gain compensation for lost or damaged shipment.
Full Truck Load (FTL)
A full truck load is a load that occupies the full space of a delivery lorry.
Tracking number
Tracking numbers are there to enable you to track your delivery. This number is different for each shipment and is assigned by the courier of the shipment.
Oversized pallet
An oversized pallet is a pallet rack that has a larger surface area than a standard sized pallet and is great for use of larger items being shipped.
AAR
AAR insurance or Against-All-Risk insurance allows your freight to be covering fully during transit.
